As expected, it was very good. I learned that I did, in fact, have Spiritual ADD. I would get bored praying after a while, my mind would wonder, I would be easily distracted, etc. I like how Pastor doesn’t condemn you but instead offers ways to change that around & to reignite your passion for the Lord. Probably the biggest revelation I got from it was that God can get bored by my “lack of passion” (read: boring, mundane, stagnant) prayers. Sometimes I forget that He has feelings, too. I’m happy to say that my prayer life has been turning around for the better & feels more alive than it has in a long time!

So I thought having something like cupcakes might cheer them up. Here’s what I made last week & this week:

Cupcake Cones

I put little candy cherries on top of my cones to make them even cuter!

Pretzel Buttons

I also made some regular pretzel bites (mini pretzels dipped in almond bark) just in case the guys weren’t too crazy about the pretzel buttons.

BTW, I totally pulled these from Pinterest, my latest love.

I read this Scripture the other day:

Habakkuk 3:19 (AMP) – The Lord God is my Strength, my personal bravery, and my invincible army; He makes my feet like hinds’ feet and will make me to walk [not to stand still in terror, but to walk] and make [spiritual] progress upon my high places [of trouble, suffering, or responsibility]! For the Chief Musician; with my stringed instruments.

And I totally read it as “Hines’ feet.” As in Gregory Hines…

I just laughed & thought to myself, Hinds’ feet or Hines’ feet. I’m good with that. I’m sure God laughed & thought that, too.

I just finished Pastor Brenda’s “The Roadmap to Divine Direction: Finding God’s Will for Every Situation” today. It was really, really good! I was surprised at how many questions she answered that I had. I consider myself “on track” to what God wants for my life & I still learned a lot from this book. I think it’s because she covers every area of your life & shows you how to ask & receive God’s direction. The whole time I was reading it, I was thinking one of my closest friends could really benefit from this. Do I think she’s off track? No, not at all. More like, she & I were just talking about what God wants in our lives & I believe this book can help. I know I’m not really giving a stellar review here by saying “it’s awesome – go read it.” But it is. Like I said, she covers a lot of areas & thoroughly explains what you need to look for & what you need to seek God on.

It’s awesome. Go read it.

I’ve been reading a lot lately. I’m not sure exactly what jump started it (maybe my List?) but I’ve blown through 2 books. And! I’m on track to finish another early next week.

So what have I been reading?

The first was my Pastor’s, Brenda Kunneman, book “Decoding Hell’s Propaganda.” I’ll be honest – it took me way too long to read this book. I think I dragged it out to 3-4 months. Why? Because I was convicted. Holy Spirit, in all of His awesomeness, would gently point out some issues I needed to work on. So I’d set the book down, get myself right, adjust my walk, & head back on down the narrow path. I wish I could say that it was easy but it wasn’t. There were several issues where I was really battling/fighting against God. What helped me (if it’ll help you) is when this light clicked on – God is never wrong. He never needs to be adjusted. All of His promises are “yes” & “amen.” So anything contrary to that is flesh (aka me). Once I just yielded to His way, I flew through the book & felt world’s better. Cliche? Maybe. But it’s true & it works.

The second was my Pastor’s, Hank Kunneman, book “Barrier Breakers.” I don’t know why but I couldn’t seem to put this down. I got such revelation from this book. He starts with Genesis 3:15 & continues to go through the Bible, looking at the “carriers”/seed of the powerful Barrier Breaker spirit which ultimately ends with us! It definitely recharged my mind & faith. I feel more aggressive & stronger in my prayer life instead of a passive “when it happens, it happens” ideal.

Both are awesome. I highly recommend it.
